  • What time does school start?

    Class begins at 8:15 am.

  • Do students wear uniforms?

    Yes, all students wear a Maplewood uniform which consists of navy blue pants, skirts or jumpers and white or navy polo shirts, short or long sleeved blouses. On the last Friday of every month students are allowed to wear their own clothes.

Homestay hosts needed

A local language school is bringing Japanese students to learn English at KGMS over the Spring Break.

Gift card fundraiser

Gift card order forms will be sent home on Friday, February 24th.

The deadline for orders is Friday, March 2nd which will allow delivery of the cards before Spring Break.

Guess the beans!

Test your guessing skills in the high school jar guessing fundraiser to support their science field trip.

Guessing will happen at recess and lunch from Monday, February 27th to Friday, March 3rd.

Hotdog Fundraiser

The high school students will be holding a hotdog sale fundraiser on Wednesday, March 1st to support their field trip to Bamfield Marine Science Centre in May.

Hotdogs will be $1 each and sold at lunchtime.

Gala Volunteer Sign-Up

This year’s Growing Hearts and Minds Gala is quickly approaching. It takes many volunteers to create a successful event. We need volunteers to help out the day of the Gala on February 25th and the next day.

Don’t forget that all volunteer hours with the Gala count towards your KGMS volunteer hours.

Pink Shirt Day

Students may wear pink shirts and/or accessories on Wednesday, February 22nd for Pink Shirt Day.

Student Leadership will be accepting donations of $2 for anti-bullying and a student representative will come to classrooms during the day.

First day after Spring Break - March 27th

The first day back after Spring Break is Monday, March 27th.

Progress Reports home - March 29th

Progress Reports will be sent home on Wednesday, March 29th.

Parent Conferences - March 31st

Parent/Teacher/Tutor Conferences take place on Friday, March 31st.

There will be no school for students. Students may accompany their parents if they are being observed in tutoring.

Students will not attend on Thursday, April 13th as this is a Pro-D day.

Good Friday 2017

The school will be closed on Friday, April 14th for the Good Friday holiday.

Easter Monday - April 17th

The school will be closed on Monday, April 17th for the Easter Monday holiday.

Pro-D Day - May 19th

Students will not attend on Friday, May 19th as this is a Pro-D Day.

Victoria Day 2017

The school will be closed on Monday, May 22nd for the Victoria Day holiday.

Report Writing Day - June 2nd

Students will not attend on Friday, June 2nd as this is Report Card Writing Day.

Sports Day 2017

Students will participate in our annual Sports Day activities on Thursday, June 8th which includes a hot dog lunch.

KGMS has talent show 2017

Our annual KGMS Has Talent Show will be on Thursday, June 15th. Please arrive early.

Family and friends are welcome to join us for what is always a fantastic show!

Our last 1/2 day for classroom cleanup and class parties is on Friday, June 17th. Report cards will be sent home also.
