All schools in BC will be returning to the classroom as per Stage 2 plans in order to maximize in-class instruction for all students within the revised public health guidelines. In-class instruction, full-time instruction for all students for the maximum instruction time possible within cohort limits. Self-directed learning supplements in-class instruction, if required.
Health and safety are our number one priority, along with maintaining the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our KGMS community. We will offer very detailed updates for our community on our website, social media, and through email. Please visit this page for updates, as it will serve as a family resource for navigating the 2020-2021 school year at Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following is the KGMS WorkSafe approved COVID-19 Safety Plan.
It is proposed that the Independent School Association of BC (ISABC) undertake the gathering together of the written experiences of its members during the on-going lockdown. This will serve as a social history account of this time for future years and generations and will provide insights into our communities’ experiences.
The target audience is anybody connected to an ISABC school – a student, parent, teacher, Board member, administrator, alumni. If you wish to participate please provide an electronic account of your experience using this template. The due date is Friday, August 14th so this is a fun summer project. We hope to have as many voices as possible to share experiences.
Please send your electronic copies to bonnie.fisher@isabc.ca.
On Friday, May 29th, we look forward to hosting our Virtual Sports Day.
On Friday morning you will receive a direct link to our Sports Day website or you can find a link on our KGMS Virtual page. There you can find a series of activities to complete throughout the day; everything from planking to creating an obstacle course, blindfolded makeup challenge to a dance TikTok challenge, there’s lots of fun to be had.
You’ll be able to upload videos of yourself completing each activity to the Sports Day Flipgrid and see your friend’s videos, too.
KGMS staff have done some of the challenges, can you beat your teacher?
