COVID-19 Update – March 11, 2020

COVID-19 Update – March 11, 2020

KGMS is proceeding quietly towards Spring Break and, as I noted in my previous email, we are encouraging both staff and students who are experiencing flu-like symptoms to stay home wherever possible.

During the break we will be conducting a thorough deep cleaning of the school and are operating under the assumption that classes will resume on March 30th as planned. If there is an unexpected disruption in the coming weeks,  you will be notified immediately and we will be following our existing protocol for pandemic response. For your information, a copy of our Pandemic Protocol will be posted on the school website before the end of this week.

For Parent/Teacher/Tutor interviews this week we would ask you to follow the same social distancing protocols and hand-washing regimen that have been identified by Vancouver Coastal Health and hope that you will understand if we refrain from shaking hands and other casual contact.

Any parent who would prefer to conduct the interview remotely is asked to contact the appropriate teacher and/or tutor to make arrangements. Otherwise we look forward to seeing you on Friday.

Over the break we have asked our faculty and staff to avoid travel to countries, regions, and cities which have been identified as having  Level 2 or Level 3 designation of contagion and we are hopeful that our families will take the same precautions over the break as well.

Thanks again as we navigate our way through these uncharted waters. Please be assured that the safety of our students is our highest priority.
